NADRA Services

The Consulate General of Pakistan Toronto provides the following NADRA services:

NADRA NICOP Application

National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) office, Consulate General of Pakistan, Toronto, Canada have been authorized to provide National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) to Pakistani Diaspora.

  1. Personal appearance of applicant for live photo and biometric.
  2. Bring any of these documents: Original Pakistani Passport or Old ID Card or Domicile Certificate or Matriculation Certificate issued from Pakistan.
  3. Applicants applying for first time are required to provide detailed birth certificate mentioning father/mother names. Birth certificate without the names of father/mother will not be accepted.
  4. CNIC/NICOP card of Father and Mother (updated after marriage) or real brother or sister is required. Physical presence of any of such blood relative (Father/Mother/Siblings) having NICOP/CNIC is required for those applicants who are applying for the first time.
  5. Applicants applying for first time are required to provide detailed birth certificate mentioning father/mother names. Birth certificate without the names of father/mother will not be accepted.
  6. Valid Pakistani Passport or valid foreign passport.
  7. For changing marital status, applicant will require to produce Nikkah Nama / Marriage Certificate.
  8. For changing marital status as divorced / widow, the applicant will require to produce divorce/death certificate of his/her spouse.
  9. Modification in date of birth (DOB) can be done on provision of valid Pakistani/foreign passport, BRP, Valid Visa, Resident Permit, Work Permit, PR Card, Matriculation Certificate (issued from any Pakistani BISE), Service Book (issued from Government of Pakistan) or court order (issued by Pakistani Court of Law).
  10. Court order from a Pakistani Court of Law is required for modification / updation of parentage name. The modification/ updation will be done after due verification of the court order by the Consulate General of Pakistan Toronto.
  11. In case a person does not have any blood relative, having NICOP/CNIC, then finger prints of any Pakistani citizen, holding CNIC/NICOP will be required at NADRA office, as a witness and the case will be forwarded to Pakistan for further verification.

Pakistan Origin Card (POC)

Eligibility Criteria
  • You were a Pakistani national but have surrendered your Pakistani nationality.
  • You are a foreign national whose parents or grandparents were Pakistani nationals.
  • You are a foreign national and have a close relative (brother, sister, uncle, aunt) who is or was a Pakistani national.
  • You are a foreign national married to a Pakistani or former Pakistani citizen.
Requirements on basis of parents / grandparents:
  • Valid Foreign passport of applicant
  • CNIC OR NICOP OR POC OR Pakistani Passport OR Manual National Identity Card OR Domicile OR Citizenship Certificate of any of parents/grandparents AND
  • Birth Certificate/CRC OR any other document to show link with parents like educational document, marriage certificate or property documents containing parents’ names of applicant AND
  • CNIC OR NICOP of any of real siblings/aunty/uncle/cousin along with statement from relative about relationship
Requirements on basis of spouse:
In case of Alive Pakistani Spouse:
  • Valid Foreign passport of applicant AND
  • CNIC/NICOP/POC of Spouse
  • Marriage Certificate
  • Affidavit from (Download Form) Pakistani Spouse
In case of Deceased Pakistani Spouse:
  • Valid Foreign passport of applicant AND
  • CNIC/NICOP/POC of Spouse
  • Marriage Certificate
  • Death Certificate of spouse
  • Affidavit from (Download Form) applicant for deceased Pakistani Spouse attested by Pak Mission and concerned foreign office.
  • Police Clearance Report

Family Registration Certificate (FRC)

Family Registration Certificate is issued to applicants which shows family composition of the applicant (by birth or by marriage) registered with National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).

If a person is not registered in NADRA and does not hold 13 digit ID number, his/her data will not be reflected in FRC.

Categories of FRC:

  • With parents and siblings (by birth)
  • With spouse and children (by marriage)
Applying on the basis of Parents and Siblings

Below mentioned information/documents are required if you wish to apply on the basis of parents and siblings:

  • 13 digit ID number of CRC/CNIC/NICOP/POC of siblings and parents
  • Correct name spellings as per the available record
  • Photograph required of those family members who are less than 18 years old and for applicant him/herself
  • Family members either not registered in NADRA or exist with incomplete information (name and ID card numbers of parents) will not be linked with other family members therefore not appear in FRC. Such family members are required to modify their ID cards with parents ID card numbers.
    • In case if POC holder exists in family, same member will apply for FRC and include other family members as relative.
  • Once your FRC application is successfully submitted, you will get your FRC in your email within 1-2 working days as a PDF document which you can print
  • You can correct only English name spellings where required. Change in the name of any family member is not allowed

Biometrics For Succession Certificate

Succession Certificate and Letter of Administration is issued to the successor on behalf of a deceased person that establishes the ownership of legal heirs /successors over the deceased persons movable and immovable property.

Succession Certificate Applications must be initiated in Pakistan.

The documents required for your biometric data verification at the consulate are:

  • Family Registration Certificate
  • Deceased’s Death Certificate
  • All legal heirs/family members mentioned on the Succession Certificate must attend the appointment with their valid original ID cards.

NADRA Frequently Asked Questions

NADRA Cards' Fee

Fast track application offers quicker delivery of your SNICOP as it is processed on priority. This option is suitable for the applicants who want to get their SNICOP in earliest possible time. Canadian Visa is not required for a SNICOP application

Your SNICOP will be sent to your home address directly from Pakistan; you will get a text message when your card will be despatched from Pakistan.

All SNICOP applicants, even a day old baby must have to come to NADRA office in person to apply for SNICOP as photo and finger prints are captured during the application processing. All POC applicants are advised to apply POC online at http://id.nadra.gov.pk/pakistan-origin-cardas manual booking of POC has been stopped. NADRA office will not be able to serve the walk-in applicants of POC.

Fee for Nadra is payable via Credit card or Visa Debit only, Consulate Service Charge is payable via Debit card only. All fees are non-refundable.

Any NICOP / SNICOP holder who is not your direct family relative can attest your form.

Applicants do not need to bring any photos or fill any form for SNICOP application. NADRA staff will take your photo and fill the form on their system during application processing.

Yes, disabled access is available in Consulate General of Pakistan Toronto’s premises where NADRA applications are processed.

SNICOP is issued with seven (7) years validity irrespective of age of applicant.

NADRA holders are advised to get their martial status updated on their cards as soon as possible. The marital status on at least one of the parents’ ID Card must have been updated to "married" for child’s application process. NADRA system will not allow the child’s application processing if both parents’ status is mentioned as single/unmarried.
