Police Clearance / Character Certificate

The Consulate General of Pakistan Toronto provides the following Police Clearance/Character Certificate services:

Online Application for Police Clearance/Character Certificate

Applicants from Punjab, Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Islamabad Capital Territory can apply online for Police Clearance Certificate.

  1. Book an appointment for police clearance certificate.
  2. Visit the consulate along with Original valid CNIC/NICOP and valid Pakistani / Foreign Passport.
  3. Application for police clearance will be processed online at the consulate in the presence of applicant.
  4. Once Police clearance is ready and received at the consulate applicants will be contacted for collection.
  5. The process takes an average two weeks from the date of processing of online application.
Fee
  • CAD 50 is charged for a Police Clearance/Character Certificate.
  • We accept debit card payments only.
  • Fee is non-refundable

Manual Application for Police Clearance/Character Certificate

Applicants from Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are required to submit their application for police clearance certificate manually at the consulate.

Option I: Direct Application at the Consulate
  • Book an appointment for police clearance certificate
  • Visit the consulate along with Three completed application forms for police clearance certificates AND
  • Three recent passport-size photographs AND
  • A valid CNIC/NICOP or Pakistani Passport along with three photocopies
  • The application forms will be forwarded to Pakistan for processing.
  • Once the Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) is received at the Consulate, the applicant will be contacted for collection. The process typically takes around 3 months.
Option II: Through a Representative in Pakistan

Applicants may authorize a relative in Pakistan to obtain their Police Clearance Certificate on their behalf.

  • Make an Authority Letter (Download Form) in the name of any relative in Pakistan.
  • Book an appointment for attestation
  • Bring the authority letter for attestation along with Original and a copy of a valid Pakistani ID (Passport or CNIC)
  • Once attested, the original Authority Letter should be sent to the authorized relative in Pakistan for processing the Police clearance certificate from relevant police station.
  • Once processed the authorized relative will attest the police clearance certificate from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) before sending it back to the applicant.
  • Upon receiving the original Police Clearance, the applicant must have it attested by the Consulate before presenting it to the relevant authorities.
